The Specialized Turbo Levo, a flow trail rider's dream, effortlessly navigates lips, roots, and rocks with its lightweight design, albeit with a reduced battery range compared to competitors, making it ideal for those seeking a playful ride with motor assistance.
Extremely light
Fun and poppy suspension kinematics
Available range extender
360 Wh battery range may not be enough for some riders
Less supple in chunky terrain than the travel numbers would suggest

This now-discounted, longish-travel, fire-breathing eMTB does many things well
Excellent climber with controllable power and great grip
Out-of-the-box geometry adjustability (BB height, head angle, chainstay length)
Powerful and refined motor with low noise
Excellent cornering ability, especially with mullet setup and short chainstays
In-frame storage and integrated multi-tool
Removable battery allows use of range extender
Frame-only option available (S-Works)
App-based tuning is user-friendly with Micro Tune feature
Very expensive even after discount
Pitched forward on steep, rough descents and deep g-outs
Some features hard to use (Apple Find My setup unclear)
3D-printed saddle collects mud in wet conditions
Occasional clunky shifts from XX drivetrain
App auto-start requires location permission always on
No dual 29" option

Specialized races to the top of the mountain and the top of the price leaderboard with its new $20,000 S-Works Turbo Levo 4 LTD.

Jul 2025
With its latest generation e-MTB, Specialized has the likes of Amflow and Bosch set well within its sights as the S-Works Turbo Levo 4 boasts big power and serious integration. With that, it provides an approachable and easy to get on with ride that’ll please a serious range of riders, new and experienced. However, you’ll have to pay for the privilege, the GENIE tech may be an acquired taste, and it’s not quite as light as I would expect for the rather serious outlay.

Specialized enters the 100Nm of torque club with its newly launched 3.1 motor More torque, more power. It’s a move that we expected to see across eMTB motor manufacturers ever since DJI launched its Avinox, which can reach up to 120 Nm of torque with a max output of 1000 watts. With up to 111Nm
Increased motor torque (101Nm on most models, 111Nm on S-Works)
Increased power output (720 watts)
Fast charging (up to 80% in under 1 hour with 5A charger; 12A charger available)
Modular battery system (840Wh standard, 600Wh and 250Wh extender available)
Well-spec'd parts (gravity tires, robust brakes)
SWAT downtube storage for tools
Excellent steep technical climbing capability due to extra torque
Intuitive handling and easy line picking
Light and fun trail feel
Shipped with 2.3" tires (not ideal for very rocky terrain; may need upgrade to 2.4" or 2.5")
High price (S-Works $13,499, Comp $7,999)

The new Turbo Levo 4 ups its power and torque figures, as well as its on-trail prowess
Incredibly well balanced suspension
Geometry adjustment that makes a difference
Smooth power delivery
Power delivered across wide cadence window
Quiet
Astonishingly pricey
Only s works model gets top torque and power stats

Apr 2025 · Mike Kazimer
The S-Works motor has 111 Nm of torque and 720 watts of max power output.
Instant power delivery, and plenty of it
840 Wh battery as the stock configuration
Very adaptable, whether that's geometry or battery size
Heavier than expected
Deserves more travel
Class 3 option shouldn't be a feature
Apr 2025 · Jeff Barber
The Specialized Turbo Levo 4 eMTB delivers an incredibly natural ride feel that makes tackling tech trails and steep climbs a joy.
Natural ride feel thanks to tuned power delivery
GENIE suspension tech performs well up and down the mountain
Tons of battery capacity if you want it
All that battery capacity makes for a heavy weight
S-Works build is overkill in terms of cost vs. benefit
