More trail worthy than previous models, the 2022 Specialized Riprock 20 and 24 sport some great improvements, but stop short of perfection.
Redesigned with slacker, more modern geometry
Hydraulic disc brakes
Internally routed for dropper post
Lightweight compared to predecessor
9-speed drivetrain with trigger shifters
High-performing Manitou air fork on Expert model
Affordable price
Dropper post compatible even on 20-inch
Low stack geometry may not fit taller riders well
Minimum seat height too high for small kids (seat post cannot be slammed fully)
Handlebar too wide for some young riders
Base model tires not tubeless-ready
Price jump to Expert model is significant
