Two Wheeling Tots
Specialized Riprock 20 and 24 Review

Nov 2023 · Natalie Martins

More trail worthy than previous models, the 2022 Specialized Riprock 20 and 24 sport some great improvements, but stop short of perfection.

Highs
  • Redesigned with slacker, more modern geometry

  • Hydraulic disc brakes

  • Internally routed for dropper post

  • Lightweight compared to predecessor

  • 9-speed drivetrain with trigger shifters

  • High-performing Manitou air fork on Expert model

  • Affordable price

  • Dropper post compatible even on 20-inch

Lows
  • Low stack geometry may not fit taller riders well

  • Minimum seat height too high for small kids (seat post cannot be slammed fully)

  • Handlebar too wide for some young riders

  • Base model tires not tubeless-ready

  • Price jump to Expert model is significant
