Riverside 540e

May 2021

The Riverside 540e is a very capable leisure e-bike from multi-sport giants Decathlon. There’s lots to like about the build and the ride, and at £1,999 it represents good value for money, which is what we've come to expect. Decathlon has its fingers in pretty much all the sporting pies, and spins up separate brands for different disciplines. Riverside is a new name; bikes like this used to be grouped under the B’twin brand which covered everything from city hopabouts to professional race bikes but the different types of bike have now been separated.

Apr 2021 · Miles Arbour

With a well-rounded build kit, a dynamo hub, and all the mounting points you could ever need, the Decathlon Riverside Touring 920 is purpose-built for the long haul. Priced at around $1,800 USD, we were curious to see if this wallet-friendly adventure rig was as capable on the dirt as it is on paper. Find our review here…

Highs
  • Fantastic value

  • Well-rounded build

  • Comfortable and stable on smooth terrain

  • Dynamo hub and charger

  • Lots of mounting options
