2025 Norco Range VLT C1

Sep 2024

The long-travel, big-boned bruiser from Norco, can handle heaps of sketchy descending - and then take you back up for round two

Highs
  • Powerful and responsive Bosch Performance CX motor with smooth, proportional power delivery

  • Excellent battery range for big rides (750Wh battery lasts ~30km with 1309m climbing)

  • Superb suspension performance (Zeb Ultimate fork, Vivid Select+ air shock) with great support and traction

  • Precise handling and tracking due to very stiff frame and swingarm

  • Mullet setup (29/27.5) provides good cornering and stability

  • Effective walk mode on Bosch motor

  • Wireless Bosch components reduce failure points

  • Color-coded display for mode and battery life (albeit without numbers)

Lows
  • Motor rattles during rough descents (similar to Shimano EP8)

  • Crank boot rubs chainstay guard when unweighted, wearing paint

  • Lock function in app not remotely operable and requires phone to unlock

  • Heavy at ~60lbs (27kg) ridden, may be challenging for lighter riders

  • Difficult to get front wheel up/manual due to rearward axle path and weight

  • No numerical battery percentage or speed display (only bar graph)

  • Subscription required for GPS tracking features after first year
