Is the Escarpe as burly on the trail as it is on paper?
Super-smooth and confident descending capabilities
Stunning value for money
Climbing performance is limited
Better brakes would enhance performance, even if it added to the cost

Descending on the Escarpe is a blast because it has geometry that’s aggressive enough and not so long, big or slack that it requires extra input or a different riding technique.

Around 7 or 8 years ago the Vitus Escarpe 29 was a way better 29er trail bike than Big Brand offerings. How is the Escarpe holding up now?
