Summary
The Trek Domane endurance bike is praised for its smooth and natural ride quality, closely mimicking a traditional road bike with subtle e-assist that feels like a tailwind. It features IsoSpeed suspension technology for excellent rear-end compliance and comfort, though the front end can be stiff on impacts. The bike is versatile with generous tire clearance and clean aesthetics, but it comes with a high price tag.
Smooth and natural ride quality with subtle e-assist
IsoSpeed suspension for excellent rear-end compliance
Generous tire clearance up to 40mm for versatility
Quiet and efficient TQ motor system
Clean aesthetics with internal cable routing
High price tag
Stiff front end on impacts
Limited battery capacity in some models
Ride quality imbalance between front and rear
Proprietary components limiting customization
Riding the Domane+ SLR is an experience much closer to that of riding a traditional road bike, except that you have a sweet tailwind where ever you go.Bicycling
The Trek Domane+ SLR 6’s powerful, quiet and smooth TQ motor system helps make this the Wisconsin brand’s yet.
It’s on the hills where the Domane+ really makes a difference.
Trek’s IsoSpeed feature continues to work brilliantly, offering an incredibly smooth and compliant feel that (at least for me) never feels overly bouncing or intrusive.
IsoSpeed works just as it’s claimed to, and the extent of its effectiveness is something that can only be fully appreciated in person.

This particular build uses top of the line SRAM components with a 1x12 drivetrain, flared drop bar, and 40c wide gravel tires. Alternative builds offer narrower road tires and a 2x12 Shimano drivetrain. SRAM Red electronic shifting and 160mm hydraulic disc brakes.
Hidden fender mounts add utility, integrated top top tube display panel works well and is easy to read, optional smartphone app provides motor tuning settings, optional range extending 160wh bottle shaped battery pack provides 40% more range and off-bike charging.
Excellent control pad button placement on left and right hood. Includes 4 amp fast charger despite having a lower capacity 360wh battery. Main battery not removable for charging and storage. Seat post is a proprietary shape so upgrade options are limited.

Flagship model weighs just 12.21 kg, and US-spec bikes get a genuinely useful 45 km/h cutoff from the new TQ mid-drive motor.

With a new TQ-HPR50 mid-drive motor hidden inside its frame, the Trek Domane+ SLR 6 2023 goes e-ncognito, promising to deliver an authentic road bike feeling despite its electric motor. But does it actually work?
Balanced weight distribution and good handling
Excellent motor integration
Hardly perceptible noise level
Generous tire clearance
Mudguard mounts ensure good everyday suitability
Disproportionately thick down tube looks awkward
