It makes you wonder – is this really the golden age of mountain biking?

The new Stumpjumper EVO gets a little more travel and a lot more adjustable. There's also extra snack space.
Wide range of effective adjustments that can quickly transform how the bike feels.
Light weight, allows for burly components to be installed without turning it into a tank
Well sorted frame - clever, useful features.
The price of this one is going to be a con for most people, but keep in mind that there are other more affordable models that are still well spec'd
It could use an even longer travel dropper, but there's not an AXS post longer than 170mm.

A few months back we published a head-to-head comparison of the Specialized Stumpjumper (classic) and Stumpjumper ST (short travel). Back then, the Californian brand had released their long, low, and slack Stumpy EVO in an aluminum version, but we knew a carbon fiber iteration was brewing and couldn’t wait to try one. Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy 29 is a totally different beast. It's not a regular Stumpjumper that has a longer-travel fork and beefier tyres.
