Reviews

Summary

The Specialized Enduro is a highly capable enduro bike, praised for its neutral suspension, excellent balance, and responsive steering. It excels in descending with a stable, confidence-inspiring ride, though some reviews note it can be taxing on less challenging terrain. The bike's geometry and suspension have been refined over the years, offering a plush ride that smooths out rough trails, making it a favorite for high-speed descents.

Pros
  • Admirably neutral suspension

  • Excellent balance and responsive steering

  • Plush ride that smooths out rough trails

  • Stable and confidence-inspiring on descents

  • Refined geometry and suspension over the years

Cons
  • Can be taxing on less challenging terrain

  • Slightly more conservative geometry than some competitors

  • Firm stock rear suspension noted by some riders

Key Quotes
The Enduro presents a very good case for conservatism in design; it is a highly evolved, well-thought-out, very-well-behaved, extremely capable bike.
BIKE Magazine logoBIKE Magazine
It’s one solid bike, and now that’s it’s a little longer, a little slacker and a lot lower, it gives you the confidence to really hammer home the 165mm of travel.

The new Specialized Enduro has nothing in common with its predecessor, except for the name and the ingenious S.W.A.T. box.

Bike Review | Specialized Enduro Elite

Apr 2020

The new Specialized Enduro is a big bike in many ways. Yes, it has a lot of travel, big wheels and stacked numbers. But it is also big in a metaphysical sense, as it proves beyond a doubt that a bike can exist in two different realms at once. This is because it’s also light, snappy, poppy and playful, all in despite of what the numbers might say. As an evolutionary tangent of Specialized’s downhill beast, the Demo, it’s not a surprise that this bike is one of the hardest charging and most capable two-wheeled contraptions we’ve tested. 170mm of travel, a 1274mm wheel base and a head tube angle of 63.9 degrees will do that. Yet what really stands out about the Enduro is how comfortable it is in every situation—climbing included.

First Ride: 2020 Specialized Enduro can climb, but it's really all about that descent

Aug 2019 · Zach Overholt

Before we could ever take the first run at Northstar on the new Enduro, we had to climb. Instead of hopping on the perfectly functional chair lift, we pedaled right past it from mid-mountain, and continued upwards until we reached the top. Fortunately, we were reunited with the chair lift on the next run, but …
