Key Quotes
Somewhat lost among Specialized’s more splashy drop-bar bikes is the Diverge.
Bicycling
Without a doubt, probably the most bonkers bike you’ll ever ride and instantly fall in love with.
Cycling Weekly logoCycling Weekly
A redesigned frame with space for 42mm tyres, disc brakes, 1x11 Shimano Di2 gearing, Future Shock suspension and a dropper seatpost signal a lot of changes for Specialized's Diverge, but they add up to create one of the best adventure bikes I've ridden.

Specialized Women's Diverge E5 Comp review

Oct 2018

The Specialized Women’s Diverge E5 Comp is a bike that will turn its hand to most types of riding and one that genuinely hits the do-it-all landmark - it's pretty much identical to the men’s bike too. As a jack of all trades, we liked this versatile gravel and adventure bike but it needs tougher tyres before you take it too far off the beaten track.

Specialized Women's Diverge E5 Comp gravel/adventure bike review

Sep 2018 · Aoife Glass

Capable aluminium gravel bike that doubles as a commuter. Buy if you want a good value do-it-all road bike that'll be as comfortable for a pot-hole riddled commute as an on-road/off-road weekend adventure ride

Highs
  • Comfortable, versatile, can take bigger tyres for an even smoother ride

Lows
  • Fewer mounts for attaching racks and mudguards than the carbon models which limits versatility

Vernon, New Jersey probably isn’t one of the first places to pop into your mind when you think gravel bikes. Serving as the location for the Specialized 2018 road presentation though, the area’s roads and gravel turned out to be a perfect backdrop – especially for the launch of the new Diverge.
