Summary
The Specialized Enduro is celebrated for its impressive climbing and descending capabilities, with a design that balances stability on rough descents with efficient uphill performance. Its updated geometry and suspension tuning, including models with Ohlins components, receive high marks for handling and comfort. However, some reviews note concerns with component specs like dropper post travel and shock setup, as well as the bike's weight in certain builds.
Impressive climbing and descending capability
Updated geometry and suspension tuning
Stable on rough descents
Good value for the price
Versatile for a wide variety of riding
Base-model spec can’t hide the weight felt in the wheels and drivetrain
Desire for a firmer shock setting for climbing
Command Post dropper post is unrefined and has short travel
The consensus on the Comp 29 was that it was nearly as impressive climbing challenging terrain as it was descending it.
The new Enduro linkage is more robust, claims Specialized, and every pivot uses the same bearing size.Bicycling
Ohlins new RXF 36 fork is seriously impressive and superbly composed, even when the trail gets properly choppy
