Specialized Pitch Sport 650b review

Aug 2016 · Jon Woodhouse

Kit compromises hold back what would otherwise be an involving budget machine. Buy if you value a lively handling bike from a big name brand and are likely to stick to tamer trails

Highs
  • Nicely made and well-finished frame is a good starting point for upgrades. 650b hoops give it a more playful character than big-wheeled rivals.

Lows
  • SR Suntour XCT fork is bendy and the damping gets out of hand quickly on rough terrain. The Tektro brakes lack bite and feel, as well as outright stopping power.

Specialized Pitch Comp (2105) review - MBR

Feb 2015 · Danny Milner

The old Pitch was a classic, can this one rekindle the flame?

Highs
  • Affordable entry-level bike for the novice rider.

Lows
  • If you want to put the saddle down, you are going to have to take a hacksaw to the seatpost.
