The main question to ask ourselves is … why? Why do we ride? Why do you ride? Why spend so much of your hard-earned money on bikes and gear? Why not just hop on your old steel klunker and head out for hours and hours of ripping up our favorite techy singletrack?

Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp 6Fattie is one of only a handful of plus sized full suspension bikes. Does it make the most of wider rear tyres?

Highs
  • Traction and control hit new highs on certain terrain. Can be winched up ridiculously steep pitches

Lows
  • Tyres can be too bouncy and float in mud

[First Ride] Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert 29"

Jul 2015 · Ian Collins

[ad3] Last month we spent a few days with Specialized in Northern California for the launch of the new Camber. Specialized did away with EVO models and just has two Stumpy offerings : 150mm/27.5″ & 135mm/29″. The new Stumpjumper was also the first bike to see the SWAT door, a downtube storage compartment that is accessed by way of a trap door under the bottle cage. Inside the downtube you can put
