Summary
The Specialized Rockhopper is a versatile cross-country bike with a lightweight A1 aluminium frame that offers good traction and stability, making it suitable for upgrades as riding skills improve. While it excels in efficiency and climbing, some reviews note it can feel nervous on descents and lacks the fun factor of more trail-focused bikes. The bike's components are generally praised, though the fork and tyres receive mixed feedback.

The Specialized Rockhopper Pro EVO may come with all the right kit but it needs a serious injection of EVO attitude to come to life
Climbs like an XC bike
Descends like an XC bike

Specialized’s Rockhopper Comp 29er will be appreciated by bigger riders and racers as it’s one of the stiffest bikes on test, both in terms of steering and pedaling.
