Summary
The Specialized Venge is celebrated for its aero efficiency, offering a ride that's faster than traditional road bikes across various conditions. It excels in speed, handling, and comfort, making it versatile for competitive racing, fast group rides, and even time trials with minor adjustments. While it carries a slight weight penalty compared to non-aero frames, its performance in crosswinds and descents is unmatched, though it may not be the ideal choice for mountainous terrains or casual distance riding.
Faster than round-tube bikes in almost all conditions
Versatile for fast group rides, century rides, and crit racing
Excellent stiffness on out of the saddle climbs
Very manageable in cross winds
Surprisingly comfortable for an aero bike
Slight weight penalty compared to non-aero frames
Not the best choice for extended days of climbing in the mountains
Slow speed handling is not as lively
It’s all about total watts out, not watts per kilo like a Specialized Tarmac.
The faster you go the better this bike handles.

“I would put myself as one of the favorites too. That’s definitely the goal. The goal could either be to do well or to win and I’m going to try to win.”

We’ve had the Specialized Venge Pro for more than a year now and logged well over a thousand race and training miles between three test pilots. As with most aero bikes, you either love their looks or hate them, but make no mistake about it they are fast – faster than their round-tube cousins in …
