The Scott Addict RC is a lightweight race bike praised for its responsive handling and climbing efficiency. It features updated geometry for stability at high speeds and agility in corners, with comfort enhancements like wider tire clearance and refined seatposts. While some reviews note it feels more like an all-road design than a pure race machine, it remains competitive and enjoyable for varied riding conditions.

Stiff frame and fork
Wireless groupset gives a clean look
Well-balanced handling
Basic wheels for overall price
Tyres could do with an upgrade

SCOTT are confident enough not to send the flagship version of the Addict RC series into this group test, settling on the Addict RC Pro instead. No wonder, since the differences to the top-end model are limited. Besides a different carbon layup for the frame, the RC Pro uses a Shimano DURA-ACE Di2 groupset instead of SRAM RED eTap AXS, and Syncros wheels instead of Zipp. Is that enough for it to hold its own against the four fastest race bikes of the 2021 season?
Excellent climbing performance, despite bulky tires and the highest weight in the test
Good vibration damping
Loves corners and carving thanks to the wide tires
Good combination of smoothness and directness
Low inherent comfort of the frame
Sacrifices pure race performance with large tires
No power meter installed

Scott has refined the Addict to be a competitive, all-around road bike for 2020. At 17.84 pounds, the Addict RC isn’t a featherweight. Price wise, the RC 20

My 1970 56mm Stella steep angles good climber, this RC30 feels very similar, but much lighter and more firm footed, instant attraction
Snappy Responsive w/TPU good climber
E-Shifting dialed in works great
Close ratio cassette
RC may be too responsive at speed for some
Required extra adjusting to bed in brakes
