Multiple mounts for accessories
Max 700x45mm or 650×2″ tire clearance
Comfortable ride
Sluggish front shifting
Awkward saddle
Not the lightest wheels and tyres package
Salsa really made some solid design decisions way back then – this bike already had 700x45mm tire clearance, solid geometry with a gravel suspension-corrected fork, built-in comfort, and mounts for everything… back before it was cool.
It’s the epitome of the modern lightweight off-road capable ride.
The Warbird occupies a niche filled by few others: a gravel-specific bike.
