Summary
The Norco Fluid FS is a trail bike that offers a great balance of performance and value, with modern geometry and a well-executed frame design. It's praised for its suspension performance, providing a supple transition and well-controlled mid-stroke, making it capable on both climbs and descents. However, some reviews note issues with weight and brake performance, and the suspension can feel over-damped in certain setups.
Excellent value for the price
Modern geometry and high-quality frame construction
Good suspension performance with a balance of traction and control
12-speed drivetrain and dropper post included
Clean and well-executed frame design
Weight can be an issue, affecting acceleration and trail performance
Brakes are often cited as lacking in power and modulation
Suspension setup may feel over-damped, robbing the bike of playfulness
Tire choice and weight can add to rolling resistance
The faster you go, the more the high-volume rubber, stiff frame and capable suspension come into their own.
With their updated Fluid FS line, Norco offers beginner and mid-level riders some highly capable complete builds at very reasonable prices.
At first glance, Norco has done everything right with its new Fluid FS 1, but the trail tells a different story.
The new Fluid is a massive leap forward for this range.
It’s refreshing to have a bike that I might actually be able to afford.
