Summary
The Norco Threshold is consistently praised as a versatile and race-ready cyclocross bike, offering a blend of stiffness, efficiency, and handling that excels in competitive settings. Its carbon construction and thoughtful design features like fender mounts add to its appeal for both racing and all-weather commuting. While it may not be the lightest or most comfortable option, its performance and value are highlighted across various builds.
Purpose-built for cyclocross racing with excellent power transfer and handling
Versatile with fender and rack mounts for all-weather use
High modulus carbon frame and fork for stiffness and lightness
Good value for beginners and competitive riders alike
Solid build quality with no immediate upgrades needed
Not the lightest option available
Some models have tires and gearing that limit performance in certain conditions
Fork stiffness issues noted in some reviews
Transmits more bumps to the rider due to stiff construction
The Norco Threshold SL CX1 is a race bike. Everything about it is fast and efficient at the expense of versatility and creature comforts.
Out of the box, no upgrades are immediately needed which can’t be said for all stock bikes.
The Threshold is certainly head and shoulders above any of the other race-worthy models providing fender mounts.
