Summary
The Norco Shinobi is a versatile trail bike praised for its all-mountain capabilities, efficient climbing, and stable descending. Its suspension system handles varied terrain well, and the bike's geometry offers a nimble yet controlled ride. While it excels in most conditions, its weight and wheel size can be a drawback in tight, technical sections.
Efficient climbing with excellent traction
Stable and predictable on descents
Nimble handling due to neutral geometry
Stiff rear end enhances control
Well-thought-out frame design
Weight can be noticeable on long climbs
Bigger wheels less advantageous in tight, technical trails
Some components could be improved for aggressive riding
The Shinobi is a fun and capable trail shredder that will efficiently take you to the top of the climb and will charge all the way to the bottom.
The Shinobi climbs admirably, with the extra momentum of the big wheels making long drags surprisingly easy and the extra traction making the slippery stuff a cinch to clear.
We dubbed the Norco Shinobi 1 ‘the cheater bike’, simply because it’s in a class of its own on every trail.

The Shinobi is a fun and capable trail shredder that will efficiently take you to the top of the climb and will charge all the way to the bottom. In the realm of 29er all-mountain bikes, the Norco certainly holds its own.
