Summary
The Merida eONE-FORTY is a versatile enduro e-bike that excels in agility and comfort, making it a joy on flowing trails. Its Shimano E8000 motor and mullet wheel setup provide a balanced ride, though some reviewers note limitations in suspension travel and handling at higher speeds. While it's praised for its playful character and efficient climbing, opinions are divided on its geometry and value compared to competitors.
Agile handling for its weight
Comfortable geometry for extended pedalling
Shimano’s E8000 motor and 504Wh battery provide decent power
Mullet wheel setup enhances grip and direction changes
Lively and playful character on descents
Suspension travel limits performance on rougher terrain
Geometry can feel conservative or nervous on steep downs
Rear shock damping fades under stress
Outclassed by latest generation motors in power and modernity
Pricey compared to competitors
The Merida eONE-FORTY is a very competent trail ebike that will gladly churn out mile after mile of fun.
The new MERIDA eONE-FORTY looks strikingly similar to the recently introduced eONE-SIXTY. Nevertheless, it’s a completely different beast on the trail.
If your idea of fun is sliding around in the woods on natural trails, searching for grip, and riding for pure kicks then the eOne-Forty does the job

Merida's eOne-Forty 8000 is a well-made and decently priced e-MTB that offers a sorted Shimano drive system nestled sleekly in a carbon chassis. It rides and handles well, but most riders would probably be just as well off with it's bigger brother in the form of the eOne-Sixty, which is much more capable, scarcely heavier and just as good value. Big Read: Racing e-bikes at the EX Enduro; how much difference does a motor make?

The eONE-FORTY is a trail-friendly and capable ebike that prefers the smooth to the rough
The geometry puts you in a comfortable position for extended pedalling
Even with its ebike weight you can still be relatively nimble on the trails
The suspension travel will hold you back when the terrain gets rowdier
Its looks and the Thermo Gate have divided team opinion

The new Merida eOne-Forty 9000 is the little brother in Merida’s new range of e-bikes with their battery hidden away inside the down tube.
Fun and exciting ride, easy to play with on the trail, proven Shimano motor, and boasting loads of smart features.
Too flexy when trails get faster and firmer, geometry is needlessly conservative. Too pricey.

Merida eONE-Forty is a playful, active and agile trail ebike. With 140mm travel at the front and 133mm on the rear it’s suitable for a wide range of trail based terrain. Might even surprise you with a bit more. Check the review, let me know if you have any comments or feedback below!
