Cotic Soul Longshot frameset review

Feb 2019

Cotic's Soul trail hardtail has a rich history and somewhat of a cult following, but this fifth-generation model brings it bang up to date with stretched-out 'Longshot' geometry and all mod cons, despite the retro skinny steel looks. It's extremely versatile, hugely capable and a proper hoot to ride, though a steeper seat angle would really help it shine on climbs. Cotic Soul (frame only) review

Nov 2018 · Guy Kesteven

Lightweight, sweet-riding frame with stretched geometry for blisteringly quick singletrack speed. Buy if you want a tough and classy frame to take on the trail

Highs
  • Superb taut-yet-floated, light-yet-tough steel frame, also has radical stretched, speed-boosting singletrack geometry

Lows
  • Wheel pack and fork on test bike undermined its performance, long frame with short fork feels weird at first
