Cotic RocketMAX Gen3 Silver SLX review

Apr 2021 · Robin Weaver

A lively, visceral and engaging ride feel, with masses of high-speed stability but still isn’t quite as forgiving as the best enduro machines out there

Highs
  • Dynamic, exciting ride feel

  • Nicely balanced suspension

  • RockShox fork and shock are easy to set up and tune, and work impeccably

  • Super composed at high-speed or when things get really steep

Lows
  • Not as easy going as the best in the business when it’s really rough

  • Needs a little more rear triangle protection to silence chain slap

Cotic RocketMAX Gen3 review – Take no prisoners

Oct 2020 · Trev Worsey

Delicate, hesitant and relaxed – all words that aren’t in the Cotic RocketMAX’s vocabulary. You only have to look at its low-slung silhouette and slammed angles to know the RocketMAX is a hard-charging beast, but does it have a refined side?

Highs
  • Super stable and composed droplink suspension

  • Easy to ride fast on flat-out trails

  • Solid on the climbs

Lows
  • Complex shock makes setup tricky

  • SRAM G2 brakes underpowered

  • Demanding on tighter terrain
