Cotic RocketMAX Gen3 review – Take no prisoners

Oct 2020 · Trev Worsey

Delicate, hesitant and relaxed – all words that aren’t in the Cotic RocketMAX’s vocabulary. You only have to look at its low-slung silhouette and slammed angles to know the RocketMAX is a hard-charging beast, but does it have a refined side?

Highs
  • Super stable and composed droplink suspension

  • Easy to ride fast on flat-out trails

  • Solid on the climbs

Lows
  • Complex shock makes setup tricky

  • SRAM G2 brakes underpowered

  • Demanding on tighter terrain

Cotic RocketMAX Gold Eagle GX review

May 2020 · Robin Weaver

The RocketMAX offers a lively, engaging ride thanks to the frame feel and confident geometry, but it’s not the comfiest bike when the going gets rough

Highs
  • Long and low-slung geometry gives masses of confidence on steep sections

  • More agile than the numbers might suggest

  • Solid, dependable build that’ll handle a hammering

Lows
  • Helm fork can feel harsh on repeated hits at speed

  • Back end not the plushest through really rough sections
