The Cervélo S5 is a high-performance aero bike that excels in speed and aerodynamics, making it a top choice for racing. It features a stiff and efficient ride, though some riders find it lacks comfort and excitement in handling. Updates like a lighter frame and improved aerodynamics keep it competitive, but it may not suit those seeking a more versatile or comfortable ride.
Unmatched straight-line speed
Aero cockpit you can adjust
Much lighter than its predecessor
Supremely aerodynamic
Simple and aero-optimised setup
Vertical seat post is not comfortable
Handling isn't overly exciting
Lacks joy in riding experience
Rather heavy
The Cervélo S5 is sickeningly fast.
Maxim Van Gils was clearly interested in the new S5's weight, and he was certainly not saying it feels heavy.
There are only a few riders in the modern peloton as versatile as Pauline Ferrand-Prévot.
