Option for suspension fork in some models enhances rough terrain performance
Low stack and long reach may not suit all riders

Gearing optimized for speed may not be ideal for loaded climbs
The Grizl is hands down one the smoothest riding drop bar bikes I’ve ridden.BIKEPACKING.com
Canyon’s two piece VCLS 2.0 seatpost is an absolute game changer for seated comfort on rough roads.BIKEPACKING.com
The Grizl has proved itself to be a fun and versatile gravel bike.
The Grizl is downright excellent.
30mm of front suspension offered by the RockShox Rudy XPLR fork does wonders to smooth over rough surfaces.

I tested the burly, top spec Grizl:ON which can cut it easily on MTB trails
Very versatile thanks to the power on-tap
Stylish looks
Will be at home comfortably in MTB terrain
Clever light and frame bag system
A mode adjust button on the handlebars from the factory would help
Some audible rattle over rougher ground
Some motor drag/lag on more technical terrain

Yes, this limited edition Canyon Grizl Throwback gravel bike isn't ashamed to admit that it's just a lightweight rigid 90s mountain bike!

The Canyon Grizl 7 Suspension is a reasonably priced, top-rated gravel bike with an aluminum-frame. It shines on the descents and over rough surfaces...
Reasonable price
Suspension fork
Great on the descents and rough surfaces
Nice component spec
Comes in both carbon and aluminum frames and multiple builds
Fairly heavy
Longer reach
Fewer accessory mounts than rigid fork version

What the hell is the difference between mountain and gravel bikes anyway?
Comfortable and fast
Stable on high speed descents and gravel
Friendly geometry for technical terrain
Excellent power transfer
Dropper post and suspension fork enhance capability
Suspension fork is heavy, complex, and expensive
Build quality note: Canyon water bottles and cages not recommended
