Summary
The Canyon Spectral enduro bike is celebrated for its playful and versatile ride, making it a favorite among aggressive trail and enduro riders. Its suspension performance, particularly with models featuring coil shocks, is noted for being supple, supportive, and progressive, enhancing stability and confidence on descents. While it excels in downhill performance and offers great value, some reviews mention limitations in climbing efficiency and suspension tuning.
Playful and versatile ride
Supple, supportive, and progressive suspension
Great value for the price
Well-sorted bike for aggressive trail and enduro riders
Impressive build quality and extras included
Slightly sluggish on climbs
Effective seat tube angle could be steeper
Limited in tuning the suspension without buying other springs
Pedal bob when seated
Stock brakes could be better
This is a really fun bike to get silly on.
The Spectral CF8 CLLCTV is a blast to ride.
It’s a fun, predictable ride that meshes well with steep and featured trails.
The Spectral is one of the best bikes I have tested when it comes to mechanical durability over an extended period.
The Spectral CLLCTV is unapologetically fun on the descents.

The Canyon Spectral CF 8 K.I.S. is a unique carbon fiber mountain bike with a mixed-wheel layout, coil shock, and a SRAM GX AXS drivetrain, all for under $5,000.
FUN!
Looks great
Cornering and handling manners
Quiet
Good suspension spec
Room for improvement in parts spec, particularly the wheels and cockpit
K.I.S. is not a clear winner

The previous generation of Canyon’s Spectral:On was so impressive that our test rider Blake, who reviewed the bike, ended up buying it because he simply didn’t want to stop riding it. A bigger battery, slightly more travel and a mullet setup means this bike looks serious, but has […]

With shorter travel and a lighter frame, the Canyon Spectral 125 CF 9 is designed to rip on a multitude of terrains.
Great handling
Plenty of adjustment
Sweet components
Not much weight saving over 150mm version
Carbon frame prone to chipping
Fair amount of initial set up

As the most expensive bike at the value bike Field Test, it wasn’t surprising that the Canyon Spectral AL 6 was spec’d better than the rest.
Excellent parts spec and value
Feels more stable at speed than most short-travel bikes
Unique mix of pop and brawl
Long, slack geometry can be cumbersome on technical climbs
Lacks small bump sensitivity
Not the most space for water
