Summary
The Canyon Grail is celebrated for its rapid ride, lightweight design, and exceptional value, making it a standout in the gravel bike category. Its unique handlebar assembly and well-balanced handling manners contribute to a versatile and fun riding experience. While it excels on mixed terrain, some reviews note limitations in tougher trail conditions and mud clearance.
Rapid ride
Lightweight design
Exceptional value
Unique handlebar assembly
Well-balanced handling
Limited mud clearance
Not ideal for tougher trails
Stiffer front end may not suit all riders
The Grail CF SL 7 eTap is well worth considering if you're looking for an extremely rapid, lightweight and agile gravel steed that's more forgiving than might first appear.
If I wanted to go bike adventure bikepacking, I’d surely pick a Grizl for the extra comfort. But when I want to go fast, it’s hard to beat the speedy feel of this new Grail.
Barring the rather bland paint scheme, the Canyon Grail CF SL 7 eTap is a difficult gravel bike to fault.

The Canyon Grail AL 7.0 SL is one of our most tested bikes. After awarding it the Best Buy in our 2020 gravel bike group test, it now has to prove itself as a bikepacking rig. Does the Grail AL have everything it takes for big adventures?
Top spec for the money
Braking performance
Good gravel all-rounder
Lacking comfort
Lacking mounting points
Some welds look rudimentary
Chainring too big

While some gravel bikes are trying to be more like mountain bikes with drop bars, the geometry and look of the Canyon Grail AL 7.0 suggests that it is more of a road bike with extra tire clearance. Canyon doesn’t take many risks with this aluminum gravel bike, but is it actually any good? As […]
Excellent value, solid build kit, familiar handling.
Staid color scheme, the usual quirks of buying consumer-direct.
