2022 Canyon Grizl CF SL 8 Suspension (Gravel)

Jun 2022

What the hell is the difference between mountain and gravel bikes anyway?

Highs
  • Comfortable, fast, and generally a bit of a riot to rip around on

  • Stable on high speed road descents and traditional gravel

  • Geometry is friendly enough to get technical

  • Excellent power transfer

  • 30mm Rudy suspension fork takes edge off rough terrain

  • Easton dropper post is ridiculously light and smooth

  • Apidura bags are waterproof and repairable

Lows
  • 30mm Rudy fork is heavy, complex, and expensive

  • Dropper post eliminates ride damping quality of previous flexy post

  • Canyon specs a 1.25" steerer (criticized)

  • Bike is not a mountain bike despite capability
