Canyon Aeroad 2021 review

Oct 2020 · Josh Croxton

The new Canyon Aeroad will certainly pique riders' interests with its quill stem, adjustable handlebar width and market-leading claims of aerodynamics but is it as good as its makers will have you believe?

Highs
  • Slightly relaxed geometry makes it suitable for more riders

  • Genuinely comfortable ride

  • Competitively low weight (7.3kg size L)

  • Aero cockpit's cut-free stem height

  • Width adjustable handlebars

Lows
  • Restricted to Aeroad cockpit, of which six-degree rise option only available… for now

  • Non-carbon-railed saddle seems out of keeping with otherwise high spec

  • Specced with older DT Swiss ACR 1100 Dicut wheelset… for now

  • Tubeless tyres not included

  • Disc brakes

Lows
  • Wheels are not very versatile

  • 23mm front tyre slightly outdated

Highs
  • Efficient and fast

  • Excellent brakes

  • Comfortable for an aero bike

  • Value

  • Excellent spec

Lows
  • Not the fastest aero bike on the market

  • It is longing for an update

Canyon Aeroad CF SL Disc 8.0 Di2 review

Oct 2019 · Robin Wilmott

First is its obvious stiffness with an extremely direct sensation of acceleration from every pedal stroke; second is the deep carbon rim whoosh as the bike leans from side to side.. .

Highs
  • Excellent component specification, price, speed

Lows
  • Suffers from a choppy ride on bumpy surfaces
