The updated, longer-legged Canyon Spectral has conservative numbers on paper that make for innovative riding on the trail.

Canyon's Spectral WMN has 140mm of travel, 27.5" wheels, and uses an entirely different frame than the men's version.
Playful on descents
Lightweight
Well thought out details like cable management system
Long 440mm seat tube height on the size medium
Ardent rear tire doesn't provide much traction
Not super plush in rough terrain

Canyon launched their latest women’s line back in March this year under a “Made for More” campaign: topping the new range is the full carbon 150 / 140 mm Spectral WMN CF 9.0, boasting all the shredability of the hugely popular Spectral platform. The question is, are the geometry tweaks necessary and do they really […]

Canyon's Spectral WMN CF 9.0 SL is the top flight trail bike for women but tweaks make it fundamentally different from the men’s mountain bike in terms of suspension, geometry and spec. Although the suspension is well tuned, conservative design makes it more of a cross-country machine than a true trail ripper.

Bad-ass looking, beautiful bike for trail riding with all the bling kit for a rather surprising price, but the new women’s specific geometry gets a mixed response. Buy if you’re looking for a capable trail bike that’s fun to ride, particularly for smaller riders, but needs confident handling on steeper terrain
Incredibly well specc’d for the money, climbs well, fun and flickable on the trails, smaller sizes are great for shorter riders
If you’re towards the top-end of a size range, you may find the reach too short which impacts its performance on steeper terrain

Make no mistake, the new Canyon Spectral CF 8.0 isn’t just a facelift with a nip here and a tuck there to extend the shelf life of an existing platform.
