Summary
The Canyon Grail stands out in the gravel bike category with its innovative Hover Bar design, offering a unique blend of comfort and control. It's praised for its lightweight build, versatile performance on both tarmac and gravel, and stable handling on rough terrain. However, the Hover Bar's polarizing aesthetics and limited fitting options may not suit all riders.
Innovative Hover Bar design for comfort and control
Lightweight build for a gravel bike
Versatile performance on both tarmac and gravel
Stable and confident handling on rough terrain
Comfort-focused contact points reduce hand fatigue
Hover Bar's unique design may not be comfortable for all riders
Limited fitting options for the integrated Hover Bar
Polarizing aesthetics of the Hover Bar
Limited tire clearance (max 42mm)
No option for 650b wheels with larger tires
Canyon hasn’t just thought outside the box with this one; the box has been stomped on, doused with kerosene, and lit on fire.
The Grail is a damn fun and hugely capable bike for gravel enthusiasts.
The fastest and most fun gravel bike I've ridden by far with an adrenaline grin factor of 10/10!
Radical innovation is much rarer than it used to be in the bike industry.

The Grail is Canyon’s first gravel bike and is built around the Hover bar, an unusual new handlebar concept that is without a doubt the bike’s headline feature.. .

Leave it to Canyon to think outside the box with its new Grail. It’s a gravel bike that should be more than enough for most who want to venture off the beaten track, but before you do so, you’ll have to accept the radical design of the integrated handlebar, and prepare yourself for endless coffee […]
