Highs Easy to ride and surprisingly versatile for a 170 mm high pivot bike; Balanced suspension performance that doesn’t feel overly glued to the ground; Short 155 mm cranks are great for technical climbs; 580 Wh battery provides best in class range
Lows Bontrager XR5 tires can’t keep up with the rest of the bike; TQ HPR-50 motor may not be powerful enough for some
The Trek Slash+ might not be the burliest or most powerful E-MTB on the market, nor is it the lightest and most playful. Instead, it's a bit of a combination of the two, making it surprisingly versatile for a 170 mm high pivot enduro e-bike. It was easy to get comfortable on and proved to be equally fun on chill flow trails as it was charging steep, technical descents. The TQ HPR-50 motor may not be the most powerful on the market, but it provides a great platform for riders looking for a more natural feeling e-bike experience. The inclusion of a large 580 Wh battery is also a great touch. Sadly though, it is held back by a few questionable part spec decisions, most notably the Bontrager XR5 tires and underwhelming dropper post travel, specifically on the larger sizes.
