Updated swingarm and color choices.
The Ibis Ripmo and Ripley now have a UDH rear derailleur. To distinguish them from current models, we use the names Ripley V4S and Ripmo V2S. The S stands for swing.
The Ripmo is available in Bruce Banner or Endurocell.
Both models get a new UDH swingarm for maximum future compatibility and switch to a 55mm chainline. You also get upgraded frame brace protection and upgraded clevis bushings.
The Ripley is available in Drywall or Bad Apple.
The 55mm chainline, which is 3mm wider than the previous standard, allows for a wider and stiffer chainstay. The clevis bushings have a more consistent seal to keep the dirt out in even the wettest of conditions. Because of these changes, the new parts are not backward compatible.
You can visually identify the new swingarms by the new linkage as well as the derailleur cable exit hole, which has been moved to the top of the stay. The new routing increases heel clearance and offers improved shift feel as it allows for a smoother transition to the front derailleur.
Our new chainstay protector features thick, raised sections to muffle chain slap noise. It also extends down and wraps under the chainstay. This protects against heel rub and eliminates the metal chain pressure plate.
We’re also replacing our bolt-on polycarbonate downtube guard with a new thick rubber guard. It covers a larger area and the increased thickness and softer material absorbs shock better.
The updated versions of Ripmo and Ripley are available now.
