2022 Ridley Kanzo A gravel bike review: OK, weight matters a bit - CyclingTips

Aug 2022 · Dave Rome

It's a little CX-y, but perhaps not in the best ways.

Highs
  • Feature-packed aluminium frame, common component fitments, feels like a road bike with big tyres, Shimano shifting and braking bits, obviously robust and ready for use through harsh winters.

Lows
  • Weighs more than a bag of soil, unforgiving ride quality, not tubeless-ready, fit is likely too aggressive for many, not great value.

Ridley Kanzo Fast gravel bike in review

May 2022 · By

The Ridley Kanzo Fast enters this group test as a thoroughbred aero weapon, taking on this year’s best all-round gravel bikes. The dropped seat stays, aero cockpit, and other details are all designed to minimise drag. We don’t doubt that the bike is fast, but can Campagnolo’s gravel components give it the versatility it needs to keep up with the competition? We let it go head to head with 18 of the best gravel bikes of the year to find out.

Highs
  • Aggressive aero look on a gravel bike

  • Super-fast on compact surfaces

  • First-class integration

  • Very composed

Lows
  • Inconsistent shifting performance of the Campagnolo drivetrain

  • Too little tire clearance

  • Lack of off-road performance
