Summary
The YT Izzo is a lightweight and efficient trail bike with 130mm of travel, praised for its excellent climbing performance and agile handling. It offers a modern geometry and a progressive suspension that provides good support on descents while maintaining pedaling efficiency. However, some reviews note issues with traction on loose terrain and tight clearances around the shock.
Excellent climbing performance
Lightweight and efficient
Agile and responsive handling
Good value for money
Modern geometry with adjustable features
Traction issues on loose terrain
Tight clearance around shock air valve
Laggy freehub engagement
Can be overwhelmed in aggressive terrain
Some components may not suit all conditions
The Izzo was hands down my favorite climber.
The Izzo is a serious blast to ride.
The Izzo is an absolute weapon on the right terrain.
This thing is absolutely razor sharp to the point where it makes those other bikes feel a bit soft.
The IZZO is ideal for riders who are used to long-travel bikes but want a more efficient bike to take on big rides without losing the ability to charge descents carefree.

This short-travel bike takes some cues from the long-travel models that YT is known for, but has an entirely new set of design parameters: being light and efficient enough to be fun anywhere on the mountain, uphill or down.

Likening the Izzo to a Katana was so unbelievably spot on. It’s agile, responsive and fast, but still packs enough strength in its reserves...
Excellent pedaling
Very smart spec
More capable than you’d expect
Serious fun
Not ultra sensitive

YT’s dedicated trail bike aims to foster efficiency and speed climbing while maintaining its shred-everything DNA on the way back down.

Nimble handling and fast acceleration can be a blast, but its limits lie on steeper tracks
Fast and fun on the right tracks, the Izzo begs for another lap
Compromised tyres and brakes hold it back
Rear suspension not ideal on gnarlier terrain
May 2022 · Richard Owen
YT inject a short-travel bike with their gravity DNA and the Izzo is the result
Best short-travel trail bike contender
Climbs brilliantly
Full carbon frame
Decent value spec
Fidlock bottle fitting included
Front tire is unpredictable in tougher conditions
Noticeably laggy freehub pick-up
Additional fees for packing and shipping

The Izzo is what I'd consider a purebred trail bike, a bike where the ideal ride includes multiple climbs and descents, rather than grinding up a fireroad and bombing down a steep track back to the bottom. . .
Excellent climbing performance
Light and lively; well suited for rolling terrain
Very good parts spec for the price
Tight clearance around shock air valve limits pump choices

The YT Izzo Core 2 offers exceptional value for the money, and the only carbon-framed test bikes at this year's Value Field Test.
Excellent climbing performance
Light and lively; well suited for rolling terrain
Very good parts spec for the price
Tight clearance around shock air valve limits pump choices
