The stealth look, the beefy frame and the low slung tubes make no secret of what the YT CAPRA 29 CF Pro Race was designed for: the roughest trails! But is the bike capable of more than looking fast and leave the test field in its dust?

Does it matter that the YT Industries Capra 29 CF Pro Race hasn't racked up Enduro titles like the YT Tues downhill bike? We don't think so.

In the space of a few years, YT has been able to gain a great popularity not only with very aggressive marketing campaigns, but also well thought out and aesthetically appealing bikes at extremely competitive prices. Opening the gates to this new approach in a certain sense was the Capra, an enduro model initially released in a 27.5″ format and now also available with 29″ wheels. YT set us up with the larger diameter wheels in the CF Pro spec, the intermediate level one among the three offered with a carbon frame. I was glad of the shock’s two-position ‘climb switch’, because the Capra’s downhill leanings don’t make it the speediest ascender and the suspension bobs somewhat until you activate the pedalling platform.. .

The Capra Pro Race is one of the longest travel 29ers in existence outside of the DH world.
Very manageable, especially considering the amount of travel

One of the most versatile long-travel 29ers we’ve ever seen, and at by far the best value. Modern climbing geometry, poppy suspension, and the definition of long, low, and slack. You just need to be a smooth pedaler and carry your water on your back.
