Review: Yeti SB140 - Little Wheels & Lots of Fun

May 2020 · Sarah Moore

The Yeti SB140 is light and poppy, but still super stable at speed. It's most in its element on trails with wide-open sight lines where you can let the brakes off and get playful on well-sculpted berms and jumps.

Highs
  • Stable at highs speed and on jump trails

  • Dependable climber

  • Comes in size XS

Lows
  • Not as composed on steep descents

  • 2.6" tire combo with EXO casing won't be for everyone

  • Riders on that are in between sizes may want to size down

Review: Yeti SB140 long-term review

Nov 2019 · Jason Sumner

While 29ers may be faster going from Point A to B, the smaller-wheeled (and shorter rear-ended) 27.5ers are arguably more playful and poppy. - Mtbr.com

Yeti SB140 first ride review

Jul 2019 · Seb Stott

At 190cm tall, I like a high front-end, and a longer reach requires a higher bar height to feel comfortable on the bike.

Highs
  • Steep seat angle, efficient suspension and fast rolling tyres make climbing both comfortable and fast

  • Burly fork and roomy geometry make it potentially super-capable coming back down too

Lows
  • Rear tyre and 180mm rotors aren't ideal for really steep descents

  • Maximum bar height too low for some tall riders

[First Ride] The New Yeti SB140

Jul 2019 · Marco Toniolo

Following the release of the SB165 , it’s time to show you the new SB140, a bike with 27.5″ wheels and 140mm rear travel, paired with a 160mm fork. This is also part of the rip bikes concept, with which Yeti defines a category designed to put fun first and foremost, taking advantage of the playfulness of the smaller wheels compared to the 29″ bikes they presented last season. In the following video the SB140 is explained in detail.   The SB140 is rather difficult to categorize. Is it a small enduro or trail bike with aggressive geometry? Let’s look
