Vitus E-Escarpe VRX review - MBR

Aug 2020 · Danny Milner

The Vitus E-Escarpe electric mountain bike doesn't get a hidden battery or carbon frame, but it delivers an addictive ride at an impressive price.

Highs
  • Function over form makes for a rewarding, engaging ride. Top end components at a great price.

Lows
  • Smaller battery and older motor don’t quite match the competition. Standover could be better. Cable routing could be cleaner.

Vitus E-Escarpe VRX review

May 2020 · Mick Kirkman

The E-Escarpe has a kit list to die for, but it’s not as balanced as Vitus’s longer-travel E-Sommet

Highs
  • Feels fast, light and lively almost everywhere

  • Parts choice and value is exceptional throughout the E-Escarpe range

Lows
  • Not quite as gung-ho as YT’s Decoy on the most DH-focused trails

  • Rider weight isn’t quite as perfectly poised and balanced as on some bikes also on test
