Highs
  • Nimble and involving handling

  • Happy to step-up to tough terrain

Lows
  • Lockout is niche and adds complexity

  • SRAM Level brakes prioritise weight over power

Trek Top Fuel 9 (2017) review - MBR

May 2017 · James Bracey

Swing a leg over the Trek Top Fuel 9 and the first thing you notice is the suspension is keen to get working. It’s a seriously rapid bike on the trails.

Highs
  • Rewarding ride provided by the Re:aktiv suspension.

  • SRAM X1 groupset performed flawlessly.

Lows
  • Handling is marred by the miniscule bar width.

  • Tyres are inappropriate for most British conditions.
