Professional results require professional equipment and we've designed our 2023 Timber 26 to be the perfect transitional bike coming off of a 24" bike. We constantly see kids coming off 24" bikes making the leap to XS or S sized 27.5 wheels (or even 29ers!) designed for 5' riders and taller. We designed the 2023 Timber 26 as the perfect "tweener" bike for kids too big for a 24" bike and too small for an adult bike. Revised geometry with a SUPER low standover height allows kids in the 4'5" range to move up to 26" wheels, and have a bike with an updated head tube angle, seat tube angle, stealth dropper and internal cable routing. Super clean look, super fast bike available in 6 cool colors! This is the bike which takes their riding to the next level in 2023! Weights starting in the 22 pound range!
Our new Timber 26 ELITE is ready to ride at just over 22.5 pounds with best in category components including a fresh new geometry approach, 1300 gram Trailcraft carbon wheels, 85 gram Ashima ultralight rotors, an extended range cassettes and our Trailcraft 152mm direct-mount cranks with aluminum spindle. The 26" wheel size is coming back for kids, and our end goal is to build the lightest production 26" bike with best in category frame, wheels, and component spec so kids can dominate the trails.
We developed the Timber 26" mountain bike to be the perfect transition from the 24" wheel size to the 26" wheel size without having to settle for an XS size 27.5" bike--or a 26+ pound bike weight! Most 27.5" bikes are just too big, long, and heavy for high performance riding coming off of a 24" wheel bike. Our Timber 26 is the ideal next size up from 24" and will continue to take their riding and bike handling skills to the next level.
Our Timber 26 gets the Trailcraft Cycles "New School Geometry Treatment" which includes a super short yet stable 419mm chainstay out back. The lower front end and standover height really allows young riders to be able to loft the front wheel over rocks, roots, creek crossings, and other trail obstacles. It's almost like a mini dirt jumper! This super sweet bike allows quick line changes, manuals, and wheelies over trail chunder. The result is a super lightweight, fun to ride bike that will take your young riding partner to the next level in their early riding career, all on a bike that weighs just 22 pounds with category leading components.
ALL level bike builds get our new lightweight 152mm Trailcraft Cycles aluminum spindle direct mount cranks with your choice of 26, 28, 30 or 32 tooth narrow-wide style chainring. Choose 26 or 28 tooth if you are riding steep hills and lung burning mountains. Lower elevation levels or flat areas are fine with a 30 or 32 tooth chainring selection.

Timber SPECIAL Build features Shimano's Deore 10 speed group with an 11-46 cassette. (10 speed). We have an optional 120mm travel fork if you want to "TRAIL TIMBER" you bike with a little more travel up front for those kids who like to shred hard going down!

Want to go a bit more custom or full custom on this build? Contact us! We are a small family business focused on building the best kids mountain bikes possible. We truly geek out on this stuff, just see our Instagram page for some of what we are doing as well as our custom builds page. We bring our frames in from Taiwan (un-assembled/not built) and we build each bike per order in Fort Collins, Colorado with US labor. Since we don't import "complete bike in box from Asia" like pretty much everyone else does, we maintain a high quality control from installation of headset, bottom bracket, and even putting the derailleur hanger on frames here in the US. You can be proud to tell your kids they have a unique bike which was truly built to order from the frame up!
