SCOTT Addict RC Pro road bike in review

Oct 2021 · Tobias Hörsch

SCOTT are confident enough not to send the flagship version of the Addict RC series into this group test, settling on the Addict RC Pro instead. No wonder, since the differences to the top-end model are limited. Besides a different carbon layup for the frame, the RC Pro uses a Shimano DURA-ACE Di2 groupset instead of SRAM RED eTap AXS, and Syncros wheels instead of Zipp. Is that enough for it to hold its own against the four fastest race bikes of the 2021 season?

Highs
  • Excellent climbing performance, despite bulky tires and the highest weight in the test

  • Good vibration damping

  • Loves corners and carving thanks to the wide tires

  • Good combination of smoothness and directness

Lows
  • Low inherent comfort of the frame

  • Sacrifices pure race performance with large tires

  • No power meter installed
