SCOTT Addict RC Pro road bike in review

Oct 2021 · Tobias Hörsch

SCOTT are confident enough not to send the flagship version of the Addict RC series into this group test, settling on the Addict RC Pro instead. No wonder, since the differences to the top-end model are limited. Besides a different carbon layup for the frame, the RC Pro uses a Shimano DURA-ACE Di2 groupset instead of SRAM RED eTap AXS, and Syncros wheels instead of Zipp. Is that enough for it to hold its own against the four fastest race bikes of the 2021 season?

Highs
  • Excellent climbing performance, despite bulky tires and the highest weight in the test

  • Good vibration damping

  • Loves corners and carving thanks to the wide tires

  • Good combination of smoothness and directness

Lows
  • Low inherent comfort of the frame

  • Sacrifices pure race performance with large tires

  • No power meter installed

At less than half the price of the range-topping Addict RC Ultimate, is the Addict RC 15 less than half as good?

Highs
  • Confidence-inspiring ride

  • On-trend tan-walled tyres and matching saddle

  • Tubeless ready wheels

  • Ultegra Di2 is faultless as ever

Lows
  • Flimsy derailleur hanger

  • Only missing a power meter

Scott Addict RC Pro road bike review

The Addict RC Pro feels like a jack of all trades that's a lot of fun to ride, but it could stand to hone its main purpose to become a master in one category.

First Ride: Scott Addict RC 20

May 2020 · David Kennedy

SRAM’s gearing matched with the high overall compliance of the Scott Addict RC 20 adds much needed versatility to the market of increasingly compartmentalized road bike designs. It is fully capable of tackling the rigors of modern road riding from minimally maintained gravel roads, to fire roads, as well as buttery smooth asphalt.

Scott Addict RC 2020 first-ride review: Now aero’ized - CyclingTips

Jun 2019 · Dave Everett

It was 2007 when Scott first revealed its 790g ultra-light Addict platform. With it, Scott set a new benchmark for light and stiff racing frames, and a number of competitors spent years trying (with some success) to beat it. Since then, the Addict RC, Scott’s answer to a lightweight all-around race machine, has been ridden […]

Highs
  • Amazingly responsive, but still comfortable for all-day racing. Clever integration and attention to detail.

Lows
  • Not enough test time to decide.
