Summary
The Scott Genius is a versatile enduro bike praised for its lightweight design, adaptable wheel sizes, and efficient suspension system. It excels in climbing and offers a playful, confident ride on descents, though some riders find the TwinLoc system cumbersome. The bike's geometry and suspension setup are frequently highlighted as strengths, making it a strong contender in its category.
Lightweight design for an enduro bike
Adaptable wheel sizes with flip chip technology
Efficient suspension system with TwinLoc remote
Updated geometry for improved handling
Versatile performance across climbing and descending
TwinLoc remote placement can be inconvenient
Some models come with narrow handlebars
Component choices may not suit all riders
Suspension can feel less supportive on rough descents
29 or 27.5 plus: There are stock options with either size, but every Genius can switch between the two with the flip of a chip.
"The big tires boost confidence, providing extra traction on technical climbs and more forgiveness through jumbled lines."Bicycling
Tech-equipped do-it-all that’s well-priced and versatile, if a little conservative to ride

The range got a big overhaul last year so the Scott Genius 940 remains relatively unchanged for 2019, apart from the price, which has increased by £200.

Big tires and better suspension blew us away on this women’s trail bike—and it’s not even the most expensive model

The Genius is a good, all-round trail bike that can be pushed pretty hard. Suspension balance takes time to perfect and not everyone will be a fan of the tyres. Buy if you're in the market for a well-mannered, long travel trail bike that's keen to eat up the miles
Decent proportions, smooth, active rear suspension tracks terrain well, TwinLoc suspension system makes shock adjustment easy
Tyres get out of their depth quickly, suspension balance front to rear takes time to dial in

The Genius was launched back in 2004 when Scott saw the need to add a well-rounded trailbike to its lineup. Over the last 14 years the Genius has

Scott's all-new Genius range packs 150mm of travel into a chassis with progressive geometry and your choice of 650b or 29er wheels, both shod with extra fat rubber. This Genius 920 sits near the top of the range, using a carbon front triangle paired with an alloy rear and 29" wheels. Overall, it's a hugely impressive long travel trail bike but this particular build has a few componentry bugbears.

Flow Mountain Bike reviews the new 2018 Scott Contessa Genius 720. After a month of shredding, what do we think of this women's trail bike?
Looks brilliant.
Loads of grip.
Excellent mix of stability and playfulness.
Twin Loc / dropper lever arrangement is hard for small hands.
