Tech-equipped do-it-all that’s well-priced and versatile, if a little conservative to ride

Highs
  • Pedals and climbs so well it puts many XC bikes to shame

  • Own-brand carbon wheels feel light and accelerate fast

Lows
  • TwinLoc system brings unnecessary complications for some riders

May 2019 · Christoph Bayer

The SCOTT Genius 950 is unstoppable on the climbs compared with the other bikes in the test field. Thanks to its TwinLoc system it sprints like an XC bike!

Highs
  • Efficient climber

  • Unstoppable on flowing trails

  • Agile and good-natured handling

Lows
  • Iout of its depth on rough terrain

  • Tires limit the bike

  • Crowded cockpit requires getting used to

Scott Genius 920 review

Mar 2018

Scott's all-new Genius range packs 150mm of travel into a chassis with progressive geometry and your choice of 650b or 29er wheels, both shod with extra fat rubber. This Genius 920 sits near the top of the range, using a carbon front triangle paired with an alloy rear and 29" wheels. Overall, it's a hugely impressive long travel trail bike but this particular build has a few componentry bugbears.
