Summary
The Scott Genius is a versatile enduro bike praised for its lightweight design, adaptable wheel sizes, and innovative TwinLoc suspension system. It offers a balanced ride with improved geometry and suspension performance, making it suitable for a variety of terrains. However, some reviews note issues with the TwinLoc remote placement and component choices.
Lightweight design
Adaptable wheel sizes with flip chip technology
Innovative TwinLoc suspension system
Improved geometry for better handling
Versatile performance across terrains
TwinLoc remote placement can be inconvenient
Some component choices may not suit all riders
Integrated cockpit lacks adjustability for some
29 or 27.5 plus: There are stock options with either size, but every Genius can switch between the two with the flip of a chip.
"The big tires boost confidence, providing extra traction on technical climbs and more forgiveness through jumbled lines."Bicycling
For a 150mm-travel bike, the 900 Tuned is seriously light (12.68kg, medium), and that’s noticeable as soon as you start turning the pedals.

Scott's all-new Genius range packs 150mm of travel into a chassis with progressive geometry and your choice of 650b or 29er wheels, both shod with extra fat rubber. This Genius 920 sits near the top of the range, using a carbon front triangle paired with an alloy rear and 29" wheels. Overall, it's a hugely impressive long travel trail bike but this particular build has a few componentry bugbears.

With 150mm of travel front and rear, the Genius sits squarely in the sweet spot for most riders. For 2018, it's also received a number of key updates, including the capability to be run 29er, 27.5 or 27.5 plus. - Mtbr.com

We reviewed the Genius Plus 710 model earlier this year, using the same frame as this model with a lower level parts spec for $5999. We went deep into our thoughts behind the plus bike concept and how they ride on the trails, head to that review here – Tested: Scott Genius Plus 710. On …
More traction than anything we've ridden.
Sweetest parts.
Smooth and quiet.
Twinloc suspension.
Light for its size.
Tall front end.
Needs technical trails to make the most of it.
