Summary
The Santa Cruz Blur is a lightweight, efficient cross-country bike praised for its excellent climbing capabilities, stable high-speed performance, and good suspension feel. It features a VPP suspension design with 100mm rear travel, aggressive geometry for climbing, and is noted for its quick, responsive handling. While it excels in racing and technical situations, some reviews note a lack of dropper post in standard builds and a firm suspension tune that may not suit all riders.
Lightweight
Excellent climber
Good suspension feel
Capable in tight, low-speed maneuvering
Stable at higher speeds
Lack of dropper post in build kits
Firm suspension tune may feel bouncy
Not as confidence-inspiring as a trail bike
The Blur is a light enough bike—Santa Cruz claims just shy of 22 pounds (with a 2,060 gram frame weight) for the CC XX1 Reserve Build—that in a tighter, lower speed setting, one could throw this bike around, there’s not much to it.
This new Blur is a rocket, and the purest XC race full suspension bike Santa Cruz has ever made.Bicycling
Without a doubt, the Blur’s newfound speed and quickness is better suited to competition than any previous iteration has ever been.

When it comes to mountain biking in 2019, the weather has not been kind. My time on the Santa Cruz Blur TR started with a trip to Sicily for the Pirelli Scorpion Tire launch, only to have the original ride snowed out. Things weren’t much better after arriving at home with constant rain keeping the …

As far as contemporary XC bikes go, the latest generation Blur from Santa Cruz Bicycles ticks a lot of boxes (registration)

After a long absence from the Santa Cruz lineup, the Blur moniker is back on a new school cross country rocket ship. A thoroughbred full-suspension XC bike has been missing from the Santa Cruz family since the non-Boosted Tallboy II. The trend toward trail geometry and Boost shifted the Tallboy into more of a trail bike.

After a short hiatus, the iconic Blur nameplate is back in the Santa Cruz lineup, this time as a dedicated XC racing machine designed for chasing finishing lines rather than laughs and grins. Without a doubt, the Blur’s newfound speed and quickness is better suited to competition than any previous iteration has ever been. But […]

If you’re a diehard Santa Cruz fan, then you likely remember the Blur — a cross-country bike first introduced in 2002. The Blur transformed over the years

TR with the guise of 29-inch wheels? Uphill both ways? More question marks?

The reborn Blur fills a hole in the Santa Cruz product line that has been vacant for many years.
