The suspension feels uniquely supple, fast, and totally unencumbered, soaking up bumps better than Jonny Moseley in his prime.

The Altitude’s leaner looks give you a sense that this bike would be pretty good at climbing and trail rambling too.

Nov 2024 · Sam James

The Rocky Mountain Altitude enduro bike has a totally new suspension layout, and we put it to the test with a full season of riding.

Highs
  • Efficient climber for a big bike

  • Solid parts package

  • Slack geometry makes for a stable ride

  • Supple yet supportive suspension feel, and the Super Deluxe Ultimate shock is a standout

  • Budget-friendly aluminum builds for those who can’t afford carbon

Lows
  • Soft Race Face rims and noisy dropper post

  • A couple of early-adopter issues with frame hardware

  • Not the most playful bike out there

Review: The Rocky Mountain Altitude C90 Has Impressive Grip & Adjustability, But Isn't the Easiest to Work On

Aug 2024 · Dario DiGiulio

The new Altitude works best on steep, loose terrain, which makes sense considering where it was designed.

Highs
  • Excellent geometry with meaningful adjustments

  • Impressive levels of grip over loose terrain

  • Race ready out of the box

Lows
  • X2 shock tune feels too light for kinematic

  • Frustrating frame hardware

2024 Rocky Mountain Altitude Carbon 70 Coil Review: For a Smoother Ride, Go For the Coil

Bike Review | Rocky Mountain Altitude

Jun 2024 · Spencer Astra

I have an affinity for bikes that mount the shock low on the frame. I’m not sure how much dropping the center of gravity legitimately affects how a bike handles, but it sure is easy on the eyes. So, as you can imagine, I was immediately a fan when I saw the new Rocky Mountain Altitude frame redesign. What’s more, the high-end C90 Rally Shimano build makes this an abundantly plush machine. Of course, the Altitude’s voracious appetite for speed is more important than its good looks. I was impressed by how well the bike climbed. Despite being burdened by thick Maxxis Double Down casing tires, CushCore tire inserts, and a front tire with Maxxis’ MaxxGrip compound, the Altitude scooted around efficiently. This left me wondering just how efficiently it would climb with a more trail-oriented tire setup.

[R]eviewed: Rocky Mountain Altitude ‘Carbon 90 Rally Edition’

Feb 2024 · February 19, 2024

When we think of Rally, images of sideways Subarus and Dakar 450’s come to mind. Vehicles capable of haulin’ arse over gnarly terrain all while looking so damn good in the process. It’s an aesthetic that has made its way into the Rocky Mountain range of bikes over the years and 2024 ain’t no different. We take a deep dive into Rocky Mountains new Altitude C90 Rally edition to see if it lives up to it’s namesake. Review: Blake Nielsen  […]
