Summary
The Rocky Mountain Instinct is a versatile enduro bike praised for its refined suspension kinematics and Ride-9 adjustable geometry system, making it adaptable to various riding styles. It excels in both climbing and descending, with a stable and capable performance on technical trails. However, some reviews note limitations in brake power and bottom-bracket height in slacker settings.
Versatile and adaptable to various riding styles
Refined suspension kinematics for more progressiveness
Ride-9 adjustable geometry system
Stable and capable descender
Good small-bump compliance
Guide R brakes lack power and adjustability
Bottom-bracket height can be limiting in slacker settings
Stock shock tune may be limiting for some preferences
Is it a backcountry scree-slope raider? Is it a big-wheel play bike, a slack-angled couch, a relaxed-fit trail carver, a long-legged marathon racer? Yes.
The new Instinct is—swift.
While the B.C. is the burlier of the Instinct models, in relation to other long-travel 29ers it’s still an all-dayer rather than an all-slayer

The Rocky Mountain Instinct trail bike gets a big-travel makeover worthy of its North Shore Inspiration with the Carbon 90 BC Edition.
Lively ride characteristic.
At home on steep, technical trails both up and down.
Most of the geometry is completely dialled.
Tall bottom bracket height.

Although the shock is fixed in what would be the lowest and slackest position on the standard bike, the extra travel means a very tall 350mm bottom bracket (18mm higher than on the non-BC Instinct). . .

The Rocky Mountain Instinct Alloy 50 BC edition is the latest offering from the North Vancouver-based bike maker. It’s designed to shred the gnar — and do a reasonable job when the trail turns skyward. - Mtbr.com
