Linear rear suspension
Versatile for aggressive trail riding
Ride-9 system for geometry tuning
Nearly the shortest wheelbase in its category

Few bikes are as good at getting you into mischief while still having the travel to get you out of trouble.
Rocky Mountain’s e-MTB arguably the best technical climber we’ve tested, full stop.
The sensitivity with which the power assist operates is impressive.
It’s a plush bike that loves to manual and rewards a really hands-on riding style with a lot of ground feedback.
Give this bike a twisty trail with unexpected drops and short punchy climbs, and it comes to life.Pinkbike

Just-right geometry, great pedaling performance and a needs-nothing components pick for under $3,000 USD.
Efficient feel under power
Spot-on trail handling
Needs-nothing component spec
Won't flourish at the bike park
Ride 9 chip could be a negative in the wrong hands

Because the weight of the motor and battery is located centrally and low down, the bike is fairly stable and confident at speed, despite being a little short by modern standards.

The Altitude might be longer, lower and slacker, but it continues to be a nimble and playful ride.

Rocky Mountain slot the radically overhauled 2018 Altitude into the category of an ‘aggressive trail’ bike. Sporting longer travel, a new frame and redesigned linkage the Altitude is longer, slacker and feeling the benefits. Review - Vitus Sommet VR Review - Canyon Spectral CF 8.0 The Light Stuff The frame of the Altitude has been updated across the range for 2018 and that includes the Alloy 30 model that we have in for test. The redesigned frame uses Rocky Mountain’s Form alloy with each tube optimised for strength, weight and ride quality.
